This study was conducted between May-August 2016. The overall aim of the study was to identify the expectations of the voters from  their  elected councilors  in  Burao.  Other  specific  objectives  were  to  identify  the  main motive  of  the  voters,  to evaluate  the  extent  to  which  voters  understand  the  role  and  the functions  of  the  councilors,  and  to  analyze  the level of  voters’  satisfaction  with incumbent councilors; and to predict the readiness of the voters to elect new councilors.
